The hub of wildlife conservation, Sandakan is a great place to start our journey into one of the oldest rainforests in the World. The flora and fauna in the Borneo jungle is an endless mystery and even today no one can claim to have seen it all. Unwind and enjoy a welcome dinner surrounded by the chants and sounds of the jungle. 

Wildlife Calling

Orangutan, Sun Bear encounters start at Sepilok and we hope to continue the experiences as we step deeper into the Borneo rainforest. The banks of the Kinabatangan River make for some great viewing: holiday with orangutans, pygmy elephants, crocodiles, proboscis monkeys, macaques, hornbills and myriad of birds living in the region.

Head-hunters of the land

If you thought you had seen it all, surprises await as we drive to the foothills of Mount Kinabalu. Get a kick of authenticity as you share home with the local community. Spend the evening exchanging stories with the elders of Kadazan –Dusun tribe.  The Headhunters of Borneo and their Bobohizan, a High Priestess, medicine woman and medium may teach you a trick or two!

Can you survive the Jungle? 

Now that you are fully acclimatized to the sounds of the jungle, it’s time to live by your wits alone. Can you learn to survive on plants and the riches of nature surrounding you? Give your child company as both of you navigate the complexities of the rain forest in your Borneo adventure travel! Learn about medicinal benefits of the plants and local traditions that work with nature to support survival. 

Marine Life Beckons

Enjoy soaking up the friendly atmosphere, cheery markets, food stalls and one of the world’s best sunsets as we head into civilisation. Time to expand our comfort zones as we go snorkelling in the hope of seeing Sharks, turtles and other marine life. Take this opportunity to snorkel some of the best coral reefs in the region as you are led by PADI professionals.

Travel expands a kid's world! Exposing them to new experiences, cultures lays a strong foundation for meaningful relations. The rainforest of Borneo is home to a lot of unique flora and fauna. The biggest problem you are likely to encounter is Leeches. Equipped as you will be for it, you will always be accompanied by trained specialist to guide you through the finer points of your Borneo adventure holiday.

On this trip amenities are a mix of basic and high end. The nights that we are in the Jungle camp and in the village, the amenities will be clean but very basic, with a shared toilet. The hotels booked are one of the best in the area.

No. As much as we wish that we could, we can’t really predict/guarantee anything with nature and wildlife. If you are lucky you may chance upon Orang-utans and Proboscis monkey in the wild along with some rare birds and other wildlife. Also Raffleasia flower grows naturally and sighting cannot be guaranteed.
