Robin is our survival instructor. A trained bush craft expert, Nature has no secrets from him and he loves to share his gigantic knowledge. Having lived with indigenous people of the land (Gurung, Khasi, Mishmis), he has learnt about primitive techniques and medicinal plants. The Gurungs gave him the nickname “Ban Manche” which means “Forest-Man”. If you are in a plane crash, he’d definitely be the guy you’d want to be stranded with!
It is preferred but not essential. You need to however be physically fit and willing to walk/hike in the jungle. Some days can have ascents also. These hikes may range from 2-4 hrs. depending upon finding a good location for setting up camp.
It’s optional. You may choose to get with you some items like mats, hammocks etc. as per the list that we will share with you. Alternately you can rent them as well. During the hike also you will be expected to carry your personal belongings with you.
Yes, with your cooperation. The bush craft trainer is an internationally trained expert and has been conducting such experiences for over 10 years. The camps are setup keeping in mind the local risks. It is imperative that you adhere to the advice of the team. We have round the clock vigils at night as well for additional security.
Our team carries a First Aid kit at all times and also have basic training for the same. In exceptional circumstances or emergencies, the nearest medical help is available at Roing which can be a 1-2 hrs drive away depending on our location in the jungle.
